Gastronomy
The Madrilenian gastronomy is one of the most complete in the world. It joins traditional flavors with a renewed avant-garde cuisine where celebrity chefs highlight. The “tapas” are essential and very popular dishes that can be found in the “jamonerías” and bars in all neighborhoods. To this is added a convincing cuisine, starring “cocido madrileño” (Madrilenian stew), “callos” (tripe), game, offal and chickpea soups.
The “bellota” ham sandwiches are very traditional, as well as Manchego cheese with Designation of Origin and squid sandwiches, ideal for taking on the terraces next to the Old Town squares.
Among the restaurants that make history, it is worth noting Casa Lucio, Botín, El Alcalde, El Frontón, el Asador Donostiarra and El Barril, among others.
